Hidlumane Falls breaks up the Kodachadri trek rather than being a destination most people visit on its own — it appears on the main trail from Nittur, roughly three-quarters of the way to the summit, tumbling down through the Mookambika reserve forest at the base of the hill.
Trekkers commonly stop here to rest and cool off before the final push to Sarvajna Peetha; visitor accounts describe it as a fairly safe spot to wade in, unlike some of the district's more remote falls.
Highlights
- Sits on the main Kodachadri trek route from Nittur, about three-quarters of the way up
- Formed at the base of Kodachadri hill, inside the Mookambika reserve forest
- A popular rest-and-swim stop for trekkers, generally considered safe
Getting there
Reached on foot as part of the Kodachadri trek from Nittur — no direct Malnad Yatra bus route to Nittur itself.
