Thyavarekoppa's lion-tiger safari has been running since 1988, with the Forest Department organising jeep trips through roughly 200 hectares of enclosed forest. Alongside tigers and Asiatic lions, visitors can spot leopards, bears, deer and other animals depending on the day.

It's a straightforward add-on for a Shivamogga day trip, though as with any safari, sightings of any one animal aren't guaranteed — some recent visitors have reported enclosure work limiting tiger viewing at times. The zoo section nearby is included in the same visit.
